Well. . . that is the problem in a sentence, isn’t it? Strong mind. Firm resolve. Will power. I’m going to make it happen. I’m going to do that come hell or high water. I will overcome. You’ve heard these and hundreds more all your life. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps! Stick to it. Get ‘er done.
But, Jesus in the Bible in Matthew 17:20 said this: “For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move; and nothing will be impossible to you."
Well, I guess that’s sort of the same kind of thing. A strong mind means to focus on what is desired intensely, and firm resolve means having the faith of the mustard seed.
But, the really, really, really good news is that it isn’t about effort, muscles, being totally in shape. No, it’s all mental, really. It’s all in our minds. Decisions about what we want is in our mind, and faith is in our mind. What, if anything, that may be required by our physical means, would not leave out a soul.
The only questions that remain are these: Do I have something that I really, truly desire? And, if so, do I really, truly believe it is already accomplished or they are already mine. He said we have the power, but the faith is up to us. He said we have the power, but what we want is up to us. He said we have the power and could move entire mountains from one place to another, which is millions of times more powerful than any bomb we have ever made. Wow! That’s a lot of power!
And, He didn’t just give it to the elite, the special, the chosen, the beautiful, the totally fit and strong. No, He gave it to all of us. We all have that same power available to us. The only place that we differ is in what we want, our particular focus energy, and the faith of a mustard seed. In other words, it’s not about effort, it is about focus and belief.
